How to be the courageous leader YOU ARE!

See yourself first and foremost as a leader.
If you doubt the powerful change agent you are, you simply fuel your own self-doubt.
Get clear on whose opinions matter to you.
Being courageous is hard, it’s even harder when we worry about what others think of us. Get clear on who your allies are in your organisation, industry, community. These are the people who are real, who celebrate you for who you are, who pull you up when you are out of line, who challenge you to be better, who discuss ideas and problems, and who always give you honest feedback.
Embrace vulnerability.
It is not a weakness, it is a superpower. Vulnerability is our greatest means for human connection, and it builds deep trust, respect, and the best relationships. Be a strong, empathetic leader who is willing to show vulnerability. In doing so, you give others permission to do the same and this drives the highest performances with the greatest fulfilment for all.
Ditch perfectionism
Our worth is not simply anchored to our achievements or how productive, busy and perfect we can be. Don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to speak up and share your ideas. Ask yourself if 80% is good enough. As a leader you don’t always have to have the answers. We don’t always have to be right, seek out diversity of ideas and give everyone
a voice, this is how we get it right.
Know your values and know your strengths
When we know what we value, what we are good at, and what motivates us we stop hustling for our worth. We find our flow. We stop jumping around crazily trying to be something to everyone, and instead we add the best value. Find out what your natural strengths are using the free VIA Character Survey, it takes only 20 minutes and will provide you great insight https://www.viacharacter.org/account/register . Then share your strengths collectively with colleagues, and each lean into these more often.
